| There can be several reasons for a company's share not getting traded in the stock exchange. The company might have closed down its operations due to losses; might have been delisted in the exchanges; could have been taken over by other companies etc. Many IPOs of fly-by-night operators who utilised the boom period of the early '90s to cheat the public have vanished. Some of them exist only in name without getting traded. If you can indicate the name of the company, probably we may try to search for additional info. But in a majority of these cases, the public investment may be considered as good as dead.

| You can check the status with SEBI (whether listed, when delisted, if taken over etc.): http://www.sebi.gov.in/Index.jsp?con...ction&sec_id=4 Alternatively you can also check with Ministry of Corporate affairs: MCA21::Information:Vanishing Companies |
