Need Help Indian passport for a minor under Tatkal - regd address proof

We are applying an Indian passport for our 1 month old kid.The address in my passport(Vijayawada) and the address in my husband's passport(Hyderabad) are different. Currently we are staying in USA(Our kid was born in India) and we want our permanent address in India to be printed on our baby's passport as we can provide proof of address of our permanent address.

But we were told by someone that for minor's passport they consider either of the parent's passport as proof of address and we need to provide another support document of the same address. It is not possible for either of us to bring proof for the address which was printed on our passports.

We are not sure how far this information is true.

Is it possible to get a passport for our kid having our permanent address? We can provide the ration card and a bank account statement of our permanent address as an address proof.

Or should we apply for a "change in address" in our passports and then apply for our kid's passport.

You should see the Counsellor at the concerned Indian Embassy/Consulate in USA . Apply for the baby's passport first and then think of address change .
